Weekly Photo Challenge: Wall

While walking today on Little Corn Island, Nicaragua I noticed an unconventional wall and canvas for graffiti or street art.   With fewer than 1000 residents and not many walls to speak of, budding Little Corn artists have found a canvas that goes beyond concrete or wood, rather using the discarded, or perhaps shipwrecked, remains of…

five rhinos drinking in a river surrounded by trees

Weekly Photo Challenge: Symmetry

Hlane Royal National Park is Swaziland’s largest protected area and home to lions, zebra, elephants, wildebeests, impala and the elusive white rhino. Below is one of my favourite moments from our visit in 2010, spotting five amazing rhinos drinking together side by side at a local watering hole. Check out other bloggers interpretation of Symmetry.

Aerial view of Angel Falls

Weekly Photo Challenge: Depth

My visit to the beautiful country of Venezuela turned out a be an incredibly memorable trip filled with muddy treks in the Amazon, stunning Margarita Island beaches and thrilling boat rides down the Orinoco Delta.  Certainly one of the highlights was catching a glimpse of Angel Falls.  Along with our lovable yet crazy chain-smoking Austrian guide, a…

Weekly Photo Challenge: Express Yourself

Weekly Photo Challenge: Serenity

During the summer months you will find Ontario’s cottage country region brimming with boaters, children playing, and city dwellers seeking reprieve from the heat.  However, come Autumn, the perfectly still lake,  beautiful colours, and utter silence make this is the place to find true Serenity.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Warmth

This photo of the sun setting on Little Go Home Bay in the Muskoka region of Ontario, brings back feelings of peace, serenity, and the warmth of summer for me.  We didn’t have the best of summers this year in Canada, so moments like this one on Labour Day weekend were especially sweet.

Eiffel Tower at night lit up in yellow lights

Weekly Photo Challenge: Yellow

Illuminating the Eiffel Tower may still be considered ghastly by some Parisians, but I found it really magical, especially in this ethereal warm yellow.  It is the city of lights after all, and strolling through Champ de Mars to catch a glimpse of the tower adds to the romantic quality of Parisian nights.
