Toronto and beyond, from the traveler’s perspective

Toronto is the perfect city for a born traveler and restless wanderer to call home.  With endless diversity in food, music, and arts driven by its multicultural residents, Toronto really is a microcosm of the world.   Whether you are visiting the city for the first time or have lived here for years, I’ll keep you updated on the wealth of restaurants and activities at your disposable.

Like any decent Torontonian, my curiosity about the world inspires me every day, so you will find plenty of travel advice and reviews on here as well.  Having traveled to six continents (Antarctica is still a dream!) and lived on three, I’ll share tips that I hope will inspire some new travel adventures, both near and far.

    • Definitely we have our share of traffic issues during peak times! My tip to visitors is to park the car and walk, use Bike Share or public transit as much as possible to take in the sights stress-free. You can also park at some subway stations and avoid downtown traffic all-together (plus hotels are more affordable further out). Hope you enjoyed it otherwise! 🙂

      • Yes, we had a great 9 days, but mostly in the Northern suburbs visiting family. Will definitely return to check out the other areas.

  4. We’ve been fortunate to have done more than our fair share of travelling around the world. While in Germany this summer, it occurred to me that we travel far and wide taking in as much of a city that we can while we are there …. yet we never do the same in our own home city. That’s when I decided I needed to regularly spend time as a tourist in my own city.
    As a result, I’m seeing Toronto with new eyes! 🙂

    • That’s great! It’s so easy to get caught up in the madness of the city and not even notice that there are beautiful serene islands to visit just off shore. One of my favourite spots too.

    • Not all of Canada experiences freezing winters. On the West Coast we are already into Spring – over 15 C this afternoon, Bulbs already up and trees are budding.

Thanks for stopping by my blog 🙂 Absolutely loving your posts since I’m a bit nostalgic for all this from T-dot (not that I was native, just lived in Montreal whilst studying for my undergrad. before moving to Australia). Miss the food, the people, and the hockey matches but can’t say I miss the weather haha.

  9. I visited very briefly with my nephew and we went on a campus tour of the university. What a jewel! We had dinner in an area that had the look and feel very much like Times Square in NYC but a uniqueness that could only be called Canadian. We did a lot of walking during the day , visited the old Maple Leaf museum and very much enjoyed the sites and friendly people. Hope to return soon to your lovely city.
